Clubs are offered weekly for a two period span to allow students an opportunity to expand their interests in areas other than academics.

• Chess Club

1st Position in National Chess Tournament in Alabama State Esat Ergin G10 got 1st position in Alabama State. He was rewarded with a trophy and a check of $350.

• Journalism Club

The journalism club of IMSA is sponsored by Mrs. Cordry. It is comprised of the following students: Noor Hamden, a tenth grader and Ayasha Balouch, Hani Parekh, Muhammad Ahmed, Sanaa Qureshi-all 9th graders.

 

The students take pictures of the activities throughout the school year. After taking the pictures, they put stories to match. They published their first newspaper in the Fall and will publish one in the Spring.

 

They entered their Fall newspaper in a competition through the University of Alabama and received an honorable mention.
